GLOBAL MISSION OPPORTUNITIES
Mission Trips to Kenya ~ Two teams are forming for "hands on" mission trips to Kenya.
One team will go February 13-26, 2010 to the Maua area which is about 100 miles east of Mt. Kenya and is where Wesley Memorial built a clinic and provided a number of other resources for the people of the area. The goals of this trip are to build a small church which will also be used as a school during the week and provide basic wellness care to local people . The medical component will work in the clinic that Wesley funded and under the direction of the Maua Methodist Hospital. We can use people who like to build as well as nurses, PAs or doctors. The other team will go February 10, 2010, for 2 weeks to Nakuru, and make an impact on an entire community by building relationships with the people through one-on-one service. You can help teach pre-school, primary or secondary students in our new boarding school or help women in the sewing project. You can assist with the slum feeding project or serve in the medical clinic (doctors, dentists, nurses, lab techs needed). Those with computer skills and construction skills are also needed. *Appalachian Angel Tree - collect, buy, and distribute Christmas gifts to children in Henderson Settlement, Frakes, Kentucky.
*Foreign Missions - we support ministries and missions in Puerto Rico, Kenya, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Belize and others. We are always sending building teams and Medical Mission Teams.
*Disaster Response Teams - be a volunteer through United Methodist Volunteers in Mission to serve on a team with disaster clean-up and relief.
