Wesley Memorial is Making a Difference by...
...by supporting Mobile Meals with people and funds
We are proud to say that Wesley Memorial is helping to make a difference in the lives of some of High Point’s elderly and/or handicapped citizens by delivering hot meals with a friendly face and some kind words.
The volunteers have been wonderful for this
worthwhile community project. Myrtle Wells,
one of our volunteers turned 90 years of age this
year and still insists on delivering the meals to
the door. She is supposed to report back to her
driver, Betty Jo Farrington, any news from the
residents. I am sure they have developed a
friendly comradeship among themselves and
their meal recipients through the years. Another
meal recipient always blesses us and tells us how much he appreciates us and the meals. Another recipient who is blind usually asks for a little help with her mail or small task. It gives you a good feeling about what you are doing when you receive such positive feedback.

Mobile Meals was organized in 1972. The success of this project, administered by volunteers only, is a result of total support from the community without using governmental funding and services. Volunteers from 16 churches, 4 civic groups and 1 individual group are involved with the delivery of meals (165 meals daily, Monday‐Friday) to individuals in High Point.
