WORSHIPING ...
Worship Experiences at Wesley Memorial UMC
Worship is an encounter between humans and God. Through prayer, scripture, music, sacraments and Word, worshippers are reminded of God’s care for and involvement in their lives and in the world. When we worship, we remember that God is our audience and that everything we do and say is directed towards God. Wesley Memorial UMC offers four worship services every Sunday morning and each one is unique; yet, the common purpose for all of our worship is to honor and praise God while deepening our faith.
We have 4 unique services to choose from. We invite you to come and experience worship at Wesley Memorial.
8:30 am The Chapel Service
The Chapel seats approximately 120 people. The style of worship is traditional, but the Chapel lends itself to a degree of informality. The Chapel and Sanctuary services follow the same liturgical order, text, and sermon. The duration of Chapel service is approximately 45 minutes
8:45 am The Gathering
The first of two Horizon Contemporary worship services, The Gathering is held in Fellowship Hall with emphasis on praise, participation, and inspirational messages in an informal worship atmosphere. Dress is informal.
9:45 am The Beginning
The Beginning worship experience takes place at 10:00 AM in the fellowship hall. It is our newest worship experience, and it focuses on day-to-day Christian living messages, based upon the teaching of the Biblical text. Our Horizon praise team supplies all music, and there is a special atmosphere of informality, welcome and prayer.
11 am The Sanctuary Service
The Sanctuary Service is held in the beautiful Gothic sanctuary that seats 1200 people. A blend of traditional and contemporary liturgy, classical choral music by the Chancel Choir, and inspiring organ music on the great Austin pipe organ. Orchestra and brass ensemble are used on special occasions.
