LOCAL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
The Local Missions team at Wesley Memorial invites you to join us in expanding our spiritual horizons and nurturing faithful lifestyles through servant ministry in High Point. The goal of Local Missions is to provide our Church community with opportunities and resources for building relationships and transforming lives within our city limits. In the words of our congregational plan for ministry, we strive to “mobilize for mission and outreach,” in order to “mentor and nurture persons in spiritual growth.”
Local Service Opportunities:
*Crop Walk - an annual 5k walk that raises money to feed the hungry.
*Fairview School - be a tutor or be a breakfast or lunch buddy.
*Interfaith Hospitality - we host 4 times a year homeless families with children by providing food and shelter.
*High Point Jail Ministry - lead Adult Bible studies on Tuesdays or Thursdays at the High Point jail.
*Macedonia Family Center - read to preschoolers or rock, sing and play with young toddlers.
*Mission Adonai - provide support to the UMC Hispanic Ministry in Asheboro.
*Mobile Meals - deliver meals to shut-ins.
*Father's Table Servers - serve dinners to the homeless on the 3rd Monday of each month
*Sandwich Ministry - make sandwiches and serve at Open Door Shelter on the 4th Sunday of each month
*West End Ministries - help with food pantry, thrift store, and Boys/Girls club
*Ward Street Mission - help with food pantry, clothes closet, VBS, Bible Study and monthly community dinner
