We're revving up the year and saying “so long" to summer at a celebration entitled “Trucks, Bikes, and Mics!" Join us August 30 at 3 pm for an afternoon filled with delicious food, loads of fun, live music, and an opportunity to feed those in need. We'll start the afternoon at 3pm in the Dining Hall with a Stop Hunger Now meal packing event. At the same time, those interested in a social cycling ride around the area will meet Carolyn and Don Shaw in the Front Circle.

Once we finish packing meals, everyone will head outside to inflatables, games, and a 'Slow Bike Race" – how slow can you cross the finish line? Bring your bike and face off against your small group, or cheer on your children. Everyone can also participate in our dunk tank! Proceeds from dunking Jay and the clergy will go to local hunger projects!

Who doesn't love food trucks? Everyone who attends will receive five tickets good for $5 off any food items. Trucks include: Sweet T's Smokin' Eats (BBQ), Jersey's Best Hotdogs and My Dream Cakes Cupcake Truck. We'll have tables and chairs set-up, but bring your lawn chair and enjoy the afternoon with food and friends.

At 6 pm the Roots Revival Band will take the stage featuring Martha Bassett, Sam Frazier, Pat Lawrence and others.
This group leads an eclectic and unique worship service in Winston-Salem. Their style is Americana/Roots/Folk and
their music features original pieces, old hymns. The Avett Brothers. Leonard Cohen, Mumford and Sons, Gillian Welch,
and more. They write, “Our music defies the sacred-secular dichotomy, inviting us to meet God in unexpected yet familiar places."

Mark your calendars and invite your friends. You won't want to miss this!
